Welcome to American Martial Institute (AMI). We offer over a hundred classes in Shaolin Kung Fu (Gong fu), Tai Chi (Taijiquan), and Qigong. Founded in 1987 by Shifu John Gilbert Jones MTCM, L.Ac., AMI is a unique center of martial arts on the Kitsap Peninsula.

AMI 3-MONTH BEGINNER STUDENT PROGRAMS

  • All programs include 5 FREE supervised 1 hour "practice labs" per week and 1 "stretching & physical workout class" per week (see current Class Schedule).
  • Most beginner classes require purchase of PC Training CDs ($15 each CD).
  • Alternate programs are available if scheduling is inconvenient.
  • Private lessons are available with Shifu Jones - $25 for 30-minute lessons.

For Prospective Students: Refer to our FAQ page and current class schedule for more information on the AMI program. Classes are held in quarterly sessions where students choose courses to take for the tenure of the quarter. After the tenth week of the quarter, testing is done for acquirement of rank. Courses are purchased by number of credits. Feel free to contact the studio with questions and/or to set up an appointment to watch a class in session.
